Together, Rosie and Jemma bring over two decades of training and industry experience from some of the most demanding rooms in fashion alongside a shared and deeply held belief about what clothes can do for women. Every design begins with the same ambition: to create the piece a woman reaches for first and lets go of last.

A note from the founders

Holden & Hunt is the story of two women who met inside one of London’s most pioneering tailoring houses. What began as a professional partnership evolved into a friendship, a shared obsession with craftsmanship, and eventually a business built together. That's really the whole story. Here's the longer version, because we think you'll enjoy it.

How we got here

Twelve years ago, Phoebe Gormley opened the first women-only tailoring house in Savile Row's 200-year history: Gormley & Gamble. It was there, under her exacting eye, that Rosie and Jemma trained, grew, and quietly became instrumental to everything the atelier stood for.

When Phoebe moved on to her next venture, Rosie and Jemma stepped forward to lead the business they had helped shape from within. Holden & Hunt is the next chapter of that story: the same house, the same commitment to women's tailoring, now under their ownership and direction.

Rosie

Rosie was raised in a family of makers, with a grandmother who was a dressmaker, milliner and tapestry artist - some of her earliest memories are of drafting patterns on baking paper and cutting toiles from her mother's bedsheets. She trained formally in dressmaking and tailoring in London and went on to work across some of the city's most respected ateliers, contributing to Paris Fashion Week collections and dressing women for the Met Gala and the BRIT Awards. She joined the atelier to help elevate its craftsmanship and continues to lead the technical and creative evolution of the brand.

Jemma

Having grown up surrounded by textile craftsmanship with an exceptionally creative mother, Jemma studied Textiles and built her earlier career in fashion buying. She then trained in tailoring under Gormley & Gamble founder Phoebe, gaining years of experience in the fitting room, designing and fitting for women of every shape, size and life stage. Today, she leads the House's client experience and the creative vision for its collections and design offering.

Our Wonderful Team

At the heart of our atelier is an exceptional team of craftspeople, whose skill and experience underpin everything we create. From the first sweep of chalk to the final hand-finished stitch, our team brings together traditional craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail and a distinctly feminine eye.

Our private client stylists guide each woman through her H&H journey, combining technical knowledge with a warm, instinctive understanding of personal style. 

Together, we’re a small but mighty team, united by a love of exceptional craftsmanship, fabulous clothes and making the experience every bit as special as the pieces themselves. And, not forgetting Nala, our resident studio dog and unofficial Head of Morale, keeping a close eye on proceedings.

Our new home

We're now on the first floor of a Grade II listed townhouse on Thurloe Street, South Kensington: built in the 1800s, lovingly restored, and full of far more character than your average fitting room. It sits in the heart of one of London's great luxury shopping districts, but the feeling inside is closer to a friend's beautifully kept home than a shopfront: high ceilings, excellent light, and somewhere you'll want to linger with a cup of tea (or something cold and fizzy) in hand.
