Born on Savile Row as the first womenswear tailoring house in its 200-year history, Holden & Hunt carries forward a legacy of craft, precision and care. Meet founders Rosie Holden and Jemma Hunt, and discover the story behind the House's next chapter.

Holden & Hunt Brand Story

Holden & Hunt is a women’s tailoring house with its roots on Savile Row and its sights firmly set on the way women want to dress now.

The House began life as Gormley & Gamble, founded by Phoebe Gormley in 2014 as the first tailoring house in Savile Row’s 200-year history dedicated entirely to women. It was a significant first, but more importantly, it created a different kind of tailoring experience: one built around women from the outset, and a space where women could finally access the same level of craft, precision and respect that Savile Row had long reserved for men. Gormley & Gamble became a house with genuine soul; a place where the making mattered as much as the wearing.

That principle remains at the heart of Holden & Hunt today.

We make clothes for women, with women in mind at every stage. Silhouettes that flatter, colours that light you up, and a beautiful fit at the heart of every piece we create; these are the details that shape how a piece feels to wear, and ultimately, how you feel in it.

Our work spans bespoke and made-to-measure tailoring, alongside a growing collection of pieces designed for the modern wardrobe. Each garment is approached with the same care, whether it begins with a blank sheet of paper or one of our established house cuts.

Our Heritage

Gormley & Gamble was founded at 13 Savile Row and quickly became known for bringing the standards of traditional tailoring to a female client.

As the House evolved beyond Savile Row, Rosie Holden and Jemma Hunt joined the business, training under Phoebe’s enduring mentorship and spending the years that followed working closely with clients and helping shape the atelier, its collections and its approach.

In 2026, Rosie and Jemma took ownership of the company and began its next chapter as Holden & Hunt.

The new name reflects a new era, but the history behind it matters to us. The knowledge, standards and relationships built over more than a decade have not been left behind; they form the foundation of Holden & Hunt today.

Holden & Hunt is the story of two women who met inside one of London's most pioneering fashion houses. What began as a professional partnership evolved into a friendship, a shared obsession with craftsmanship, and eventually, a business built together.

The Founders

Rosie Holden

Rosie was raised in a family of makers. Her grandmother, Betty, was a talented dressmaker, milliner and tapestry artist; her father, a photographer from a long line of artists. She grew up surrounded by women with needles in their hands and creativity woven into everyday life.

Some of her earliest memories are of learning to sew alongside her mother, drafting patterns on baking paper and cutting toiles from her mother's bedsheets (much to her mother's dismay!). Long before fashion became a profession, it was simply part of who she was.

After university, Rosie trained formally in dressmaking and tailoring in London before joining Gormley & Gamble, where she spent five years learning under founder Phoebe Gormley. Before her time at G&G, she worked across some of London's most respected fashion ateliers, contributing to collections shown at Paris Fashion Week, dressing women for the Met Gala and the BRIT Awards, and working across film and television.

Rosie was brought to Gormley & Gamble to help elevate the atelier itself: its craftsmanship, its production, its standards and its ambition. Today, as co-owner, she continues to lead the technical and creative evolution of the brand, combining traditional craftsmanship with an uncompromising commitment to excellence.

Jemma Hunt

Jemma grew up in an equally creative household, surrounded by an enduring love of clothes and making. Her mother was a keen dressmaker and seamstress, crafting everything from tailored suits to leather jackets, and from an early age Jemma developed a fascination with fabric, design and the process of turning an idea into something wearable.

She spent her earlier career in fashion buying, working for some of Britain’s leading fashion brands. Over the years, she developed a sharp eye for styling, product and an instinctive understanding of the pieces women truly love to wear.

Her path into tailoring began at Gormley & Gamble, where she trained under founder Phoebe and spent the years that followed immersed in the world of bespoke womenswear. Working closely with clients in the fitting room, Jemma learned to design for women of every shape and size, developing a deep understanding of fit, silhouette and personal style. It was here that she discovered what she loved most: the deeply personal process of creating something for one woman, and the relationship between client and atelier that makes bespoke clothing so special.

Today, Jemma leads the House’s design direction, product and range development, and client experience. Her approach brings together the precision and craftsmanship of traditional tailoring with a fresh, fashion-led perspective - from sourcing exceptional fabrics to helping each client create pieces that they will adore for years to come.

It was at Gormley & Gamble that Jemma and Rosie met; beginning a partnership built on a shared obsession with craftsmanship, an unwavering commitment to quality, and a belief that beautifully made clothes should be both treasured and truly worn.

The Vision

Between them, Rosie and Jemma bring over two decades of experience across the most demanding environments in fashion - bespoke ateliers, red carpet commissions, the rigour of Savile Row - alongside a shared and deeply held belief about what clothes can do for women.

Rosie and Jemma are interested in the clothes women actually wear. Not the pieces bought for a single occasion and forgotten, but the ones that become favourites; reached for repeatedly, packed for every trip and relied upon when looking and feeling your best matters most.

Their mission is to create more of them.

Every design begins with the same ambition: to create the piece a woman reaches for first, and lets go of last. Modern heirlooms, thoughtfully designed and expertly made, that earn their place in a wardrobe through years of wear.
